Angela Wilson is a licensed psychotherapist and psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience working with adults, teens, children, and families in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She enjoys working with all age groups and using a variety of modalities, including play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) talk therapy, to address a wide range of mental health concerns. She believes in developing a partnership with her clients and collaboratively creating a plan of care that leads to healing and optimal health.
In addition to working one-on-one with clients, Angela has extensive experience and training in working with families of both young and adult children. This stems from the training she received at the University of Pennsylvania, where she worked with families to improve communication. Family work may include all family members or those who are able to participate. Her work also includes coaching families who work together in family businesses, helping them understand the root causes of conflict and how to resolve them. Additional training that complements Angela’s individual and family work includes CBT for insomnia and OCD, as well as trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR.
Angela graduated from Boston University with a BSN and attended graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied child and family psychiatric nursing. To complement her experience in mental health, she later pursued an MA in Elementary Education at the University of San Francisco. Angela is also certified as a Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist by ANCC.
During her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing paddle tennis, and practicing yoga.
