Margaret Grimsley, LCSW, holds a Master of Social Work degree from Southern University at New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Poetry from the University of New Orleans. Originally from New Orleans, Margaret was raised in the unique neighborhoods of the city, where she was influenced by the individuality and diverseness of the culture. This influence has not only enriched her personal life but also serves as a foundation for her professional work as a therapist. Margaret firmly believes that each individual possesses a distinctive story shaped by their lived experience.

With over 28 years of experience, Margaret has had the honor of learning her clients’ life stories, embracing their complexities from moments of triumph to challenges. Employing an eclectic approach, Margaret assists clients in rewriting the parts of their lives that are difficult or burdensome. She is deeply passionate about mental health and wellness, committed to guiding clients on their journey of self-discovery.

Margaret’s therapeutic approach is strength-based, recognizing each client’s individuality, while walking alongside clients navigating challenges and finding their renewed sense of purpose. She integrates various modalities and techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), codependency treatment, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion.

In her practice, Margaret specializes in assisting adolescents and adults in areas of anxiety, depression, and navigating difficult life transitions. A specialized focus of Margaret’s practice concentrates on helping clients understand and overcome codependency related to their family members or significant others facing addiction and alcoholism challenges.

In her leisure time, Margaret is inspired by storytelling in movies, music, and live theater.
