Nadia Fiorita, obtained her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Fordham University and completed two internships in CT and NY. She also attended and participated in post-graduate trainings and courses in Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (for treating Anxiety, Depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing as well as Internal Family Systems Level One.
Nadia specializes in treating preteens, adolescents, adults and families in addressing major life changes including adolescence, transitioning into college and/or adulthood, divorce, relationship and family issues, substance abuse, domestic violence and eating disorders. She has a niche in treating adolescents and young adults as she believes adolescence and young adulthood is one of the most significant life phases. Nadia sees the remarkable developmental changes that occur during this time, which presents an opportunity to learn about the importance of a strong sense of self and healthy friendships and relationships.
Additionally, Nadia is passionate and experienced about treating individuals and families who have experienced trauma. Whether it is a minor or major trauma, it can negatively change how we think, feel and behave. It can also change how we view others, the world, and ourselves. Furthermore, she understands how earlier experiences in our family of origin influence us greatly, especially the relationships with our primary caregivers.
Nadia understands the courage and strength it takes to seek help and support. She believes that everyone has the inner wisdom, knowledge and courage to live a fulfilling and joyful life. She honors the therapeutic space and relationships as she strives to create with each patient in each session with her a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
In her free time, Nadia enjoys exercise, yoga, meditation, travel, music and spending quality time with friends and family.
